Mary sees every person and injury as unique. After thoroughly listening and assessing you she will tailor your treatment and exercises to resolve the problem and prevent it from happening again. She never tires of talking to people about their injuries and pain.
Mary graduated from the University of Alberta with a bachelor of science in physical therapy in 1994. She has a strong interest in treating patients with complex orthopaedic conditions. Mary is one of the few clinicians in the Edmonton area who has achieved her certification level in McKenzie diagnosis and therapy (MDT). She also has achieved her level two certification in functional dry needling which is an excellent complement to McKenzie therapy. McKenzie therapy is an assessment technique that empowers the patient to self treat through their specific exercises to resolve their injury. It goes beyond the current injuries and seeks to understand why the injury occurred or has been a persistent problem. As an avid learner, she participates in a monthly study group and also has assisted on McKenzie courses. Working at Revive allows for collaborative treatment with other unique therapists to achieve resolution of complex injuries
Mary has a passionate love of road biking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, hiking and pickle ball and has to do pilates every week to be able to do all the activities she loves. Mary grew up doing gymnastics, swimming, skiing and soccer. She is proud to have played Soccer on a women’s team with her daughters. She loves her monthly book club but admits it’s really all about the date with her friends. She has 4 children and 8 grandchildren however she would like to note she is a very young Nanna! It’s not unusual for her to travel with 19-25 of her closest family members. Family meals are an all day Sunday affair. Irish by heritage but Italian at heart. With boisterous laughter, stories and food she can’t get enough of family and friends (and her patients).
Mary is thrilled to be part of the multi-disciplinary team and Revive!
