When you meet her, ask Wendy about her favourite pastimes. The answer gives you surprising insight into why and how she is so incredibly gifted at what she does and how she works with her clients towards health and healing.
For starters, she loves treasure hunting. You might find her in a consignment or second hand store patiently and excitedly sorting through the piles of “what once was”, what has been cast away to find and revive the jewel underneath, the lost or forgotten treasure. Once found you will watch her breathe new life into the find making it shine. This dedication to seeing the value in what seems valueless is how she treats her patients: that which they wish to throw away (pain, illness, dis-ease) is found and transformed into the gift of golden healing. There is deep wisdom in Wendy’s way, well earned and cherished.
Wendy’s wisdom and skill with people of all ages comes from her life and work experience. As a mother of four, she went to the University of Alberta to earn her degree in Human Ecology with a Major in Family Studies. From there she went to work as a Family Support Worker and Supervisor for a foster care agency where she supported foster parents with high needs kids. Spurred by her desire and dedication to serving others and by her personal experience with her health transformation via acupuncture, she decided to pursue her diploma.
Wendy is a graduate of the MacEwan University 3 year acupuncture program. The combination of life experience and education helped to her to build a practice based on honouring and treating the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of health. She has been practicing since 2005 and in that time has had success in treating many different kinds of conditions.
As Wendy’s pastime illustrates – she isn’t deterred by the layers of complexity & loves to dig deep to get to the root of the issue, or the treasure. She has had success working with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety and ADHD. She loves helping women with their reproductive, fertility and hormonal issues. This includes preparing couples for IVF treatments, and birth induction, cycle regulation and menopause. . She also enjoys treating autoimmune conditions, neurological disorders, chronic pain and digestive problems. Finally she has also received training in Constitutional & Facial Therapy TM which helps with treating facial lines and scarring. She incorporates tuning forks, cupping, and liquid Moxa, to name a few, into her treatments.
As you can see, Wendy has sifted through all sorts of experiences in her life to collect these gems which she is so generously willing to share with her patients. She is excited to be a part of the Revive Team and looks forward to meeting you and working with you towards reviving your health.
